The Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, based Lotus Sangam, a community collective of men who have sex with men, has completed an innovative pilot sensitizing Panchayat leaders, that has been recognized as an international success story in reducing stigma.
On Sept 10, 2011, Madurai’s first Gay ‘Friendly circle meet’ was conducted, with the purpose of having local community members get to know each other. More than 80 gay and bi guys took part in the meet and formed the group “Srishti”
