We have had our desires and identities reviled and/or viewed as medical or psychological curiosities, at best, or abnormalities, at worst.

The struggles of those who assert the lack of a sexual attraction, i.e. asexuality, converge with those of the queer/trans communities, in terms of being viewed as abnormal or deficient. There also individuals within the lesbian, gay, bi, pan, trans and ally communities who are on the ace spectrum, who may be homoromantic, biromantic, panromantic, as well as asexual, demisexual or Gray-A.

Orinam stands in solidarity with the Ace community, and is pleased to share the following links to resources created by ace individuals in India.

Indian Asexuals, India’s first initiative of its kind, was formed in August 2013 by an Asexual feminist activist Mr. Raj Saxena. He is also co-founder of ACEapp Application which is first Mobile application for Asexual people.

Indian Asexuals was started with a clear agenda to make awareness about Asexuality and to sensitize Non-asexual people about the Asexual spectrum in India,  as Asexuality is least talked about within and outside of the Queer Community itself.

Indian Asexuals believe that everyone has right to know about the Asexual spectrum, not only economically privileged people. That is why we work for free. We organise many online and offline events like Seminars, Webinars, Workshops, E-workshop, Speed Dating for Asexuals, Less sexual, Aromantic and Less romantic people etc.

If you identify yourself on the Asexual spectrum (Demisexual, Graysexual, Sapiosexual, Aromantic Ace etc) or support Asexuals (as an ally) you can reach out on
