Urgent: Information required for 377 Case – Data or Studies on LGBT People in India
People involved with the 377 case have put out a call for information on data and research studies on LGBT community in India. This is in response to the current interest from the Supreme Court. (For latest on Supreme court IPC 377 hearings refer our blog posts)
Vikram posted the below request on LGBT India mailing list.
“Do folks on the list know of any published/quickly publishable data or research on Indian LGBT folks? Perhaps on discrimination, bullying in schools and colleges, suicides, marriages, etc? There are two excellent (although a bit dated) reports from PUCL Bangalore – but anything other than that? Please post it on the list with links and references. Please treat this as URGENT. “
Towards this, Orinam has developed a comprehensive list of books, reports, journal publications, theses and dissertations on aspects of LGBT life, health or culture in India. Check out the Orinam bibliography here.
If you have some titles or lists that you would like to see listed, please let us know immediately. Please help spread the word.
Thank you.
